Moving to the current Monster Range, there are three models: the 696, 1100, and 1100S. The Monster 696 was announced in November 2007 and officially launched early April 2008 in Barcelona. The Monster 1100 was announced in September 2008. Based on the Monster 696, it comes with a larger 1078 cc engine, a single sided swingarm, radial brake calipers, larger diameter forks and taller suspension. The 1100 "S" model features fully adjustable Öhlins suspension components, a different colour scheme and aluminium brake disc carriers reducing weight. All models have been praised by the press and public alike, and in what is quite a rare achievement actually take the best of the older models and improve upon them both technically and aesthetically.
Like most enthusiast marques, there is a very active trade in aftermarket performance parts and customisation with a lot of owners choosing to fit freer flowing exhausts, premium suspension, lighter wheels and carbon fiber accessories from manufacturers such as Termignoni, Arrow, Fast By Ferracci, Akrapovic and Ducati Performance, ohlins, Marchesini and Showa to name but a few, all of these parts taking an already good standard bike and making it better.
The Monster range has also spawned several signature products including Monster watches and clothing, but most notably the Ducati Burton snowboard, a collaboration between two of the hottest brands of the present day, Ducati and Burton snowboards. The Ducati Monster snowboards were produced in strictly limited numbers, appearing in a gloss red or matt black, adorned in both cases with a stomp pad manufactured to look like the fuel filler on the Monster roadbike. Both are very rare and very collectable.

2010 Ducati Monster 696
Alas, we're quick to forget the little guy. The glory-grabbing superbikes from Ducati owe much to the sustainability of the Monster line, now 17 years after it was first seen. Ducati knows this. They know it to the point that opening night of the world press introduction for the 2009 Monster 696 in Barcelona was a gala dinner at the Museu D'Art Contemporani De Barcelona, replete with local dignitaries including Italy's ambassador to Spain and all the Ducati chieftains.
Before I sheepishly sneaked away from the dinner table, averting my gaze when any impeccably groomed, tan-skinned persons passed by for fear of them recognizing me the following day by my pauper's toggery, I noted various trademark components of the new bike, large and small, were displayed like the art that many consider them to be. The Monster, it was everywhere.

One of the most profound names in the automotive industry, Ducati, that has been world renowned for its incredibly gorgeous yet extremely powerful bikes, is now all set to unveil its latest creation, in the form of the all new Ducati Diavel. The enthusiastic people at the Hell For Leather magazine have now gotten their hands on some new information in regards to the Diavel, before the bike’s official unveiling ceremony at the EICMA or the Milan Motorcycle Show.
Ducati, it seems has spared no efforts in creating a highly versatile speed demon in the form of Diavel, while adding a more technology driven edge to the bike, there by making it a highly sought after motorcycle. The Ducati Diavel provides and incredible 162 horsepower of raw energy, along with 94 pound-feet of torque and weighs only 456 pounds. The Italian motorcycle behemoth has also planned to introduce another variant of the Diavel, called Ducati Diavel Carbon, that will primarily be composed of carbon fiber, thereby reducing the overall weight of the bike by an additional seven pounds. Also, as far as technology is concerned, Ducati has instilled some of the coolest features into the Diavel, including, ride-by-wire throttle system, traction control, anti-lock brakes, a keyless ignition and a tank-mounted, light-sensing TFT display. However, one of the most eye catching and appealing of all aesthetics of the Diavel is the humongous 240 millimeter wide tire.
The base model of the Ducati Diavel will be available for commercial sale with a price tag of $16,995 and the carbon fiber version of this incredible bike will set you back about $19,995.

The EVO treatment represents a midlife upgrade for the 848, now entering its fourth year of service. While the list of engine and chassis enhancements can fit on a sticky note, the performance gains are intended to benefit racers and street riders alike. This is an important point, because the 848 EVO replaces the current model and becomes the sole 848 offering for '11. While periodic updates are to be expected among competition-based machines, the surprise here is that a red 848 EVO carries the same $13,995 MSRP as its predecessor, while the matte-black version here is $1000 less.
We obtained the very first EVO-spec bike to arrive stateside and promptly put it through our full street and track test regimen. Strapped to CW's Dynojet dyno, the EVO produced 118.5 rear-wheel hp, a mere 1.5-pony increase over the 848 we tested this past year. While engine performance fell short of what we had anticipated, the EVO still outmuscles its closest middleweight-class rivals by nearly 10 peak horsepower. The tuning alteration has shifted peak output closer to the 11,000-rpm rev limiter while sacrificing a couple of ft.-lb. of torque throughout the middle of the rev range.

2010 Ducati Hypermotard 1100 EVO SP Sports Bike
By now, you probably have a pretty good idea about what kind of bike the Hypermotard is trying to be. Well then, while it may not exactly be an "OMG, Bruce Willis' character is dead and only the little kid can see him!" level moment of magic, please allow us to interject a little plot twist of our own now that you're 90 percent through our review of the bike. In addition to being a near-perfect machine with which to terrorize unsuspecting women, children and small dogs, the 2010 Hypermotard 1100 EVO SP is actually a perfectly acceptable around-town mount. The riding position is all-day comfortable, with the rider's legs at a completely reasonable angle directly below the bum and the handlebars an easy reach out front. Wind blast is just about as present as you would expect given the lack of a fairing, but that pointy headlight module and jutting front fender did much better than we expected in directing the onrushing flow away from our chest and face.
